In this activity, students will investigate the number of desks needed to create a square table to use at a banquet. They will create "squares" that have the same side lengths.

Students begin by using tiles to create the squares and complete the worksheet with the data, looking for patterns. Then students use the Table feature to explore a table of squares to solve problems. This includes looking at the square and determining the length of a side and looking at the side length and finding the squared value.
