Getting Started!

In this activity we will:

  • Check the OS and Calculator ID
  • Familiarize yourself with the TI-73 Explorer
 
I.  Press  to turn your graphing calculator on.  Clear the Home Screen by pressing [MEM] and then selecting 5: Clear Home.  Then press .  This will clear all previous entries from the Home Screen.

Press  [MEM]  this will get you to the memory screen show right. no alt text supplied
Select 1: About by pressing .  You will see the screen to the right which contains the OS versions, 1.90.  You will also find the unique product ID, 02066-38BC8-A8DA, which identifies the graphing calculator.  Tip: use this number to check out unit to students. no alt text supplied
II.  Press to exit memory screen.

Press . Press the left, up, right, and down keys to navigate and  to select an option.  After you are done setting your preferences Press  to return to the home screen.

To access math additional math feature press , navigate by using the arrow keys and then select an option by pressing .  Please read calculator guide for appropriate syntax.  Calculator Guide  Press  to return to the home screen. no alt text supplied
To access your graphing calculator applications press .  You will see a list applications that are currently installed on your unit.  To download, install, and/or delete click here, download instructions.  Press  to return to the home screen. no alt text supplied
To access your graphing calculator conversion menu press [UNIT] You will see a menu of conversions that your calculator can perform.  Move your cursor and press  to select.
